Be true to you.
There is no one in the world like you, and you are just the way you should be. When the year piles up, sometimes it can weigh us down and be heavy on our shoulders. It’s easy to think we should be different than we are. Take time today to shed all the shoulds, and relish in being you.

Tammy, here’s my Cannon Beach post written the first year I did SOL. Mary Helen commented on it. https://pleasuresfromthepage.blogspot.com/2012/03/foggy-morning-at-beach.html

The link didn’t work, and I really wanted to read about Cannon Beach… my family used to go there, and other nearby beaches when we lived in Portland (a long time ago).

Did you see Lucy Calkin’s workshop on conferring last week? This is exactly what she urged people to do. You might want to ask Ruth if this piece could be a Big Fresh

I love this idea so much! You made the process of revision concrete for kids. I can’t wait to try this

At first it may not seem like I followed the prompt. To be fair, I didn’t actually read it before writing. BUT, it was better that way, because then Ruth’s prompt was more affirmation than prompt!
I was inspired by Julie — to write about books. Thing is I don’t read nearly as many books as she does. But I do read a lot of picture books! And I love them! They are fantabulous, fun, inspiring, and all around great. So I decided I’d embrace me — the relentlessly positive kindergarten teacher, and share one of my new favorite picture books.
Hope you enjoy my post, and the piece of PIE 😀
