Make it happen.
Chains of habit are too light to be felt until they are too heavy to be broken.
—Warren Buffet
Habit is essential for writers. If we develop a habit that allows us to enter into writing, then we will write more often. Consider the habit you have for joining #sosmagic. Do you have a reminder alarm? Do you decide to write first thing on Thursday morning or last thing on Wednesday? As you slide into blog writing, pay attention to the routines that make it happen. Then consider a routine to ensure it happens again and again. (We’d love to hear your habit in the comments as you share your links this week!)
*Remember, you don’t have to accept this invitation…but I do hope you will accept the invitation to write. Sharing our stories is magical.
PS—I started a Facebook Group for the #sosmagic community. Join here.

My poetry habit is getting stronger throughout this year. This week I write about my process playing with language with children.

Blogging has helped me develop the habit of writing. I’ve been encouraged by so many writers I’ve met through blogging, too. Here is a poem form I tried after reading many mentor texts from my blogging friends: https://wp.me/p2fY1t-1we

Ruth’s invite and an IDOE zoom meeting were both about habits. I felt compelled to at least think about my own writing habits!
